Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams along with being a photographer was also an environmentalist. His work focuses on nature. He emphasizes the beauty of nature through these surreal untouched areas of the America. His work was very important throughout history his work was used to promote preservation of wilderness.
The subject of this photo is the Yosemite. This photo focuses on where the light hits the mountain and the moon. The light in this photo is coming from above, it creates shadows on the left and right side if the mountain. The light is mainly focused in the middle of the photo which creates a high contrast between the sky and the rock. Everything in this photo is in focus. There is a sense of depth created by the shadow on the left side of the photo. The camera positioning is facing slightly upward but for the most part is straight on. There is an asymmetrical balance. This photo does not follow the rule of thirds. I feel at ease when looking at this photo.
