This picture was taking for the motion assignment. I wanted
to capture Noah throwing the leaves up in the air in the leaves falling down. I
used a fast shutter speed so the photo would appear to be frozen. The leaves
and Noah's arms were captured in motion. This photo was taken just off to the
side where he was standing. I also liked the brick background because it wasn't
too distracting, and it allows you to focus more on the subject matter which is
Noah and the leaves. There is a repetition of color between the leaves and the
brick wall with the mix of reds, red browns, and deeper reds. Noah has on a
different color shirt and pants from the background and leaves which make him
stand out. The interesting thing about this picture is that the motion appears
to be frozen.
This photo is from the depth assignment. I wanted to show
separation between the bottles to create that I used a white background. The
lighting was coming from the side from the studio light and from above from the
class lights. The lighting created a shadow on the left side of the bottles.
The picture was taken from straight on at eyelevel. I think taking the photo from close-up and
eyelevel created an interesting view because it makes the bottles seem bigger
than they really are.
This photo was taken for the landscape assignment. I wanted
to capture the mountains and river. I used a fast shutter speed because leaves
were falling and I didn’t want any blur in the picture. A sense of framing was created by the bridge,
trees, and the grass. The frame is highlighting the mountain, woods and water. There
is also reflection of the trees in the water. An interesting point of the picture
is that the water that is being framed appears to be still but if you look just
to the right of the frame the water appears to be moving.
This photo was from the Landscape assignment. It was taken
in New Hampshire across from The Bretton Woods Hotel. A sense of leading lines
was created by the winding driveway up to the hotel. There is a sense of
foreground created by the snow and tall grass then the middle ground is created
by the hotel and trees and the background is created by the sky and clouds.
There is not much going on in the picture but it has a magical almost unreal
mood created by the castle like feel of the hotel and the colors of the sky.
This picture was taking for the motion assignment. I wanted
to capture the motion of the leaves. I used a slower shutter speed to show blur.
This photo was taken from a moving car. There is a lot going on in the photo
but it works due to the muted colors. In There is a peculiar mood to this photo
created by the blur. It is hard to tell what the picture actually is. An interesting
point in the picture is the reflection of my mom’s purse in the window.
This photo was from the Landscape assignment. It was taken
in New Hampshire across from Cannon. To take the picture I used a fast shutter
speed do the fact I was in a moving car. There is a sense of foreground created
by the pond that is frozen over then the middle ground is created by the
mountains and background is created by the sky. There is not much going on in
the picture but it has a curious mood to it with the muted colors and the patch
of blue sky.
