Magazine Advertisement
The assignment was to create a collage ad from different images we found in magazines. To make the ads we had to bring in magazines to find what inspires you and cut out what you wanted to make your ad about. Once you decided what you wanted to do you had to search through more magazines to find pictures, letters, designs ect. that you thought go along with your ad. when that was done you had to plan out your ad. You had to decide how it would be arranged on the paper and what elements you wanted to use such as shape and color. Also you wanted make sure in you plan that the page was balanced. Once this was all figured out you needed a piece of colored paper, a glue stick, and some scissors.
For my ad I was inspired by a picture of a beach which reminded me of my vacation to Myrtle Beach this summer. So I thought it would be cool to find nice vacation spots in general. On my ad I tried using the element of line by the rainbow color all round and in the center as a continuation of the rainbow. During this assignment I learned what you need to do to have a successfull ad, such as the principles of design like the balance, which is when elements on one side are similar to the other side, movement- where the viewers eyes moves on the page, proportion- when the part (sizes, amounts, and numbers) relate well to each other, and unity- the feeling of harmony among all the parts which has a feeling of completeness.
If I were to recreate my project I would plan it out better with the arrangement of my pictures, and the way my colors come together. I would change the arrangement of my pictures to make them unify since they are all spread out. I would change the colors to show more of a contrast since mine all blend together especially with the blue background.

Flyer
The assignment was to create a flyer for an upcoming event. Since its October I chose to create a flyer for a Halloween party. When planning it out I tried to keep the classic colors of orange and black. I picked a background that had a Halloween theme and I added a picture of a ghost, a witch, and a jack o’ lantern. I had to make sure that whoever was reading this that they would know where it is when it is and what kind of things would be going on. For this I created a textbox. I made the outline of the textbox bright green to make it stand out. I put the first textbox closer to the title. In this box I wrote the time date and location of the party. I put the second textbox closer to the bottom. In this one I wrote some of the things that would be going on. If I were to recreate this I would probably fix or change some of the pictures because on the ghost picture you can see the pixels
Black and White Flyer
The assignment was to create a black adn white version of our original flyer for an upcoming event. Since its October I chose to create a flyer for a Halloween party. I picked a background that had a Halloween theme and I added a picture of a ghost, a witch, and a jack o’ lantern. I had to make sure that whoever was reading this that
they would know where it is when it is and what kind of things would be going on. For this I created a textbox. I made the outline of the textbox black to make it stand out on the white. I put the first textbox closer to the title. In this box I wrote the time date and location of the party. I put the second textbox closer to the bottom. In this one I wrote some of the things that would be going on. I made this box and text white to make it Stand out on the Black If I were to recreate this I would choose a larger sized picture so that way if i make it bigger or smaller you won't be able to see the pixels.

1. Visiting Thayer Street was what I expected. When I thought of Thayer Street I thought of stores lining the street and a lot of people. I was right but there weren’t as many people because it had started to rain.
2. I think that this trip can help me in future classes and in college. I think it would help because it improved my “research skills”. I think improved research skills help for other schools projects. It would also help in collage if I have to ask people about what they do.
3. Information I missed on the field trip was what was across the street from Johnny Rockets. To fix this I looked up Johnny Rockets on Thayer Street Providence RI on Google maps and got the street view and looked at was across the street
4. The most memorable part of the trip was walking around with friends. This is the most memorable part because on most field trips you had to stay with your groups and stay within a certain area but this time we could walk around by ourselves.
